The Indelec Prevectron® 3 S60 (P1543) is the flagship model of the Prevectron® 3 range of Early Streamer Emission (ESE) lightning conductors. With a 60 µs advance time (ΔT), the longest in the range, it is designed for projects where one air terminal must protect the largest possible area: industrial plants, warehouses, logistics hubs, stadiums, hospitals, schools and open sites. How the Prevectron 3 S60 Works
An ESE air terminal triggers an upward streamer earlier than a conventional lightning rod. That early streamer lets it intercept the downward leader first and extends the protected area around the mast. The Prevectron 3 S60:
- Detects an approaching storm by continuously measuring the electric field gradient (ΔE/Δt).
- Triggers the upward streamer through 6 independent, synchronised internal modules, the most in the Prevectron® 3 range.
- Optimises triggering with OptiMax® technology, developed by Indelec’s Lightning Innovation and Research Institute (LiRi). OptiMax® neutralises the space charges around the conductor before the upward streamer is released.
Built for Harsh Outdoor Environments
The housing is 316 stainless steel with electromagnetic shielding, and the 200 mm² nickel-plated copper central rod ensures full electrical continuity to the down conductor. The S60 is tested to a normative lightning current of 100 kA and has withstood a maximum current test of 230 kA (Unicamp). It fixes to the pole with a standard M20 thread and carries a 5-year warranty.
