Indelec P8050 RFID Flash Lightning Counter
The Indelec P8050 RFID Flash is a battery-free lightning flash counter that keeps a record of every direct lightning strike on an external lightning protection system. It clamps onto the down conductor and registers strikes by induction. The count is read contactlessly with a smartphone through RFID, so there is no battery to replace and no need to open or dismantle anything during inspections.
Battery-Free, Maintenance-Free
The P8050 draws the energy it needs from the lightning current itself, so it needs no battery at all. That removes battery checks and replacements from the maintenance plan, which is a real advantage on installations with many down conductors or on hard-to-reach sites.
Contactless Reading with an Android App
The strike count is read with Indelec’s RFID Lightning Counter Reader app for Android. The technician holds the phone near the counter to read it, a quick and simple step during routine lightning protection inspections.
Detection and Certification
The P8050 detects lightning currents from 2 kA to 100 kA (10/350 µs wave). It is classified as a Type 1 lightning strike counter (LSC) and certified to EN 62561-6 Ed. 2 (certificate LER-20-077-RE). It weighs only 0.2 kg and is fixed to the down conductor with the specific clamp supplied.
