Kobold PS-5149 – PS Paddle Flow Switch, Brass, 1/2″ NPT Insertion, for 2″–6″ Pipes
The Kobold PS-5149 is a paddle-type flow switch from Kobold’s PSR/PS series. It is the insertion (PS) version, with a brass body and a 1/2″ NPT connection, designed to be fitted into larger pipes from 2″ to 6″. It has a standard SPST reed contact and a 5 ft (1.5 m) cable.
The switch works on the spring-resisted paddle principle. Liquid flowing in the pipe deflects the paddle, which carries a magnet that operates a hermetically sealed reed contact when the flow reaches the switch point. The switch point is adjustable. Because it is inserted into the pipe through a single 1/2″ NPT port, the same switch can be used on several pipe sizes, which makes it a simple, economical way to monitor flow or no-flow in cooling water, process water and pump circuits. The brass version is rated for pressures up to 1,450 psig (100 bar).
