PPD-11A-3D-Y-Z-74-3 Winner Hydraulics Proportional Reducing/Relieving Valve with Open-Overlap Spool
The Winner Hydraulics PPD-11A-3D-Y-Z-74-3 is a direct-acting, spool-type electro-proportional pressure reducing/relieving valve with improved dynamic response, for the 3-port 11A-3 cavity. Like the rest of the PPD family, it gives low pressure with no command, and the reduced pressure rises in proportion to coil current. What sets the -74-3 apart is its spool geometry. Where the standard PPD-11A-3D-Y-Z-74 closes between reducing and relieving, the -74-3 uses a slight open overlap during that transition, which Winner specifies to ensure stable pressure control. It is rated for 20 L/min at 350 bar and protected by US patent US9234605.
How the PPD-11A-3D-Y-Z-74-3 Works
Oil flows from port 2 (inlet) to port 1 (reduced pressure) at the level set by the coil current. If pressure at port 1 exceeds the setting, the valve relieves from port 1 to port 3 (drain). During the change from reducing (2 to 1) to relieving (1 to 3), the slight open overlap keeps pressure control stable. Winner notes that this may cause a pilot flow loss of approximately 200 cc/min, particularly during transitions under dead-head conditions.

Manufacturer Notes
- Back pressure at port 3 adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
- With inlet pressures of 210–350 bar, Winner recommends a minimum reduced pressure of 30 bar at port 1 for best control.
