The Panasonic PM-F45 is a compact U-shaped (slot) micro photoelectric sensor from the PM-45 series, with the amplifier built into the sensor head. It is the F-type model, defined by its mounting orientation, with a 1 m cable and an NPN output. It detects any opaque object passing through its fixed 6 mm slot, down to 0.8 × 1.2 mm. With a repeatability of 0.01 mm and a response frequency of up to 3 kHz, it is widely used as a home or limit sensor on linear axes, XY tables and rotary indexers, and for detecting small parts and tabs. It provides two outputs, Light-ON and Dark-ON, at the same time, so no switch setting is needed. It runs from 5 to 24 V DC, which makes it suitable for both logic-level and standard 24 V control circuits.
