Kobold NEK-3273N20C – NEK Compact Conductive Level Switch, Relay Output, Polypropylene Body, 73 mm, 3/4″ NPT
The Kobold NEK-3273N20C is a compact conductive level switch from Kobold’s NEK series. It has a polypropylene body, 73 mm stainless steel electrodes, a 3/4″ NPT process connection and a relay output with a floating changeover contact, with a 2 m (6 ft) PVC cable.
The potential-free changeover contact can switch an alarm, a solenoid valve or a pump contactor directly, or connect to any PLC input regardless of whether it is PNP or NPN. The NEK detects the level of conductive liquids by applying a low AC voltage to a pair of 316Ti stainless steel electrodes. When the liquid reaches the electrodes, a small current flows between them and the switch changes state. The 73 mm immersion length places the switch point further into the tank than the 36 mm version, which helps where the switch is fitted through a thicker wall, boss or adapter. With no moving or protruding parts, it is well suited to dirty liquids, liquids with high solids content, low-viscosity media and aggressive chemicals. The polypropylene body is a cost-effective choice for low-pressure tanks at moderate temperatures. The switch can be installed horizontally or vertically.
