Kobold NEK-2236N20C – NEK Compact Conductive Level Switch, PNP, Polypropylene Body, 3/4″ NPT
The Kobold NEK-2236N20C is a compact conductive level switch from Kobold’s NEK series. It has a polypropylene body, 36 mm stainless steel electrodes, a 3/4″ NPT process connection and a PNP open collector output, with a 2 m (6 ft) PVC cable.
The PNP (sourcing) output is the standard choice for most European PLCs and control systems. The NEK detects the level of conductive liquids by applying a low AC voltage to a pair of 316Ti stainless steel electrodes. When the liquid reaches the electrodes, a small current flows between them and the switch changes state. With no moving or protruding parts, it is well suited to dirty liquids, liquids with high solids content, low-viscosity media and aggressive chemicals. The polypropylene body is a cost-effective choice for low-pressure tanks at moderate temperatures, and offers good resistance to many chemicals. The switch can be installed horizontally or vertically.
