Kobold NEK-1136N20C – NEK Compact Conductive Level Switch, NPN, PPS Body, 3/4″ NPT
The Kobold NEK-1136N20C is a compact conductive level switch from Kobold’s NEK series. It has a PPS (Ryton) body, 36 mm stainless steel electrodes, a 3/4″ NPT process connection and an NPN open collector output, with a 2 m (6 ft) PVC cable.
The NEK detects the level of conductive liquids by applying a low AC voltage to a pair of 316Ti stainless steel electrodes. When the liquid reaches the electrodes, a small current flows between them and the switch changes state. With no moving or protruding parts, it is well suited to dirty liquids, liquids with high solids content, low-viscosity media and aggressive chemicals, where float switches can stick or fail. The PPS body gives the higher pressure and temperature ratings in the NEK range, and the switch can be installed horizontally or vertically.
