Kobold KAL-7215 Product Overview
The Kobold KAL-7215 is a high-performance, compact electronic thermal flow transmitter engineered to continuously monitor and transmit the volumetric flow rate of low-viscosity, water-based industrial liquids. Operating on the time-proven calorimetric principle, this solid-state sensor features a protrusion-free probe tip crafted from 304 stainless steel. It provides exceptionally stable flow readings entirely independent of temperature variations in the process medium.

Advanced Intelligently Compensated Calorimetric Principle
The KAL-7215 leverages a smart, microprocessor-driven measurement design. A single internal RTD element serves a dual role: it briefly heats the probe tip a few degrees above the fluid temperature, then monitors how fast the flowing medium cools it down. This cooling rate maps directly to the velocity of the liquid. Utilizing an internal look-up table, the microprocessor continuously compensates for base temperature fluctuations, completely eliminating the thermal drift vulnerabilities that plague older thermal dispersion designs.
Obstructionless Design for Demanding Flow Channels
With a completely smooth wetted profile devoid of vanes, turbines, or mechanical gears, the KAL-7215 experiences zero mechanical wear and introduces negligible pressure loss into your line. Its unified, single-piece metal face prevents sediment, scale, or fibrous debris from latching onto the probe tip, drastically cutting down on routine system maintenance. It can be field-calibrated to fluid properties in minutes, transmitting a stable 4–20 mA feedback loop to a PLC or automation network, while an optional PNP switch point suffix («P») can be added for fast over-flow or dry-run protection.
