The Panasonic AFPX-E30TD is the FP-X E30TD expansion I/O unit. It adds 16 × 24 V DC inputs and 14 NPN transistor outputs (0.5 A, 5–24 V DC) to a Panasonic compact PLC. Unlike the smaller E16 units, which draw power from the unit on their left, the E30TD has its own 24 V DC power supply. This lets you chain several units in a row and build larger I/O systems. Panasonic lists the AFPX-E30TD as a current expansion unit for the FP-XH range. It is also compatible with the FP-X0 L40 / L60 control units and with existing FP-X systems, which makes it a useful part both for new machines and for expanding or repairing installed ones. It connects with the supplied 8 cm expansion cable.

- FP-X0 L40 / L60: up to 3 FP-X expansion units; with E30 units, max. 130 points (L40) or 150 points (L60)
- The FP-X0 L14 and L30 models are not expandable.
