Burkert 562422 – Type S030 Inline Paddle-Wheel Sensor Fitting, DN 40, Stainless Steel, BS 4825 Clamp
The Burkert 562422 (00562422) is a Type S030 inline sensor-fitting with integrated paddle wheel. Bürkert lists it as “Fitting with clamp OD tubing 4825 DN40”, with these features:

Built for Hygienic OD Tube Lines
BS 4825 clamp ends let the 562422 drop straight into stainless steel OD tube installations, common in dairy, brewing, beverage and pharmaceutical plants, without threaded joints. For the 1½” (DN 40) BS 4825-3 clamp size, Bürkert specifies:
- Fitting length: 161 mm
- Clamp flange diameter: 50.5 mm
- Tube OD: 38.1 mm
The fitting can be dismantled from the line by simply opening the clamps.
How the S030 Measures
Liquid flowing through the fitting turns a PVDF paddle wheel carrying four permanent magnets. The paddle wheel runs on a ceramic (Al₂O₃) axis and bearings. The transmitter mounted on top detects the rotation contactlessly through the fitting wall and converts the frequency into flow rate using the fitting’s K factor. Thanks to Bürkert’s “Inline Quarter-Turn” bayonet, the transmitter can be fitted or removed without opening the pipe or interrupting the process.

For best accuracy, install the fitting with the straight inlet and outlet runs Bürkert gives per EN ISO 5167-1. The pipe must always be full at the measuring point.
