The Kobold PSR-5125 is an in-line paddle-type flow switch from Kobold’s PSR/PS series. It has a brass body with 1″ NPT connections and a factory switching range of 3.2–5.0 GPM (water, increasing flow). It has a standard SPST reed contact and a 5 ft (1.5 m) cable.
The switch works on the spring-resisted paddle principle. Liquid flowing through the body deflects the paddle, which carries a magnet that operates a hermetically sealed reed contact when the flow reaches the switch point. The switch point is adjustable within the range. The in-line design means the switch is plumbed directly into the pipe, with no separate fitting or tee needed, which makes it a compact and economical way to monitor flow or no-flow in cooling water, process water and pump circuits. The brass version is rated for pressures up to 1,450 psig (100 bar).
