Burkert 00432305 – S030 Stainless Steel Sensor Armature with PVDF Paddle Wheel and EPDM Seal
The Burkert 00432305 (article no. 432305, Type SET8) is Bürkert’s original sensor armature set for the Type S030 inline paddle-wheel sensor-fitting. Bürkert lists it on its website as “VA armature and EPDM seal”, where VA means stainless steel. The S030 data sheet describes the set as a stainless steel sensor armature with a PVDF paddle wheel, EPDM seal, screws and test certificate. It is the part that carries the measuring paddle wheel inside the fitting. Replacing it restores the measuring element of the flowmeter without replacing the complete fitting or cutting the pipework.
Which S030 Fittings It Fits
The 00432305 is specified for S030 sensor-fittings from DN 15 up to DN 65, with one exception. Since March 2012, the DN 15 and DN 20 sizes have also existed in a second version with a different K factor, marked “v2”:
- On metal fittings the v2 marking is on the side.
- On plastic fittings it is on the bottom.
v2 fittings in DN 15 or DN 20 need a different armature set, so check the fitting body before ordering.

Why EPDM
Bürkert offers the same stainless steel armature with either an FKM seal (article 432306) or an EPDM seal (432305). The EPDM set is usually chosen for stainless steel S030 fittings in hygienic lines that are already fitted with EPDM seals. Bürkert’s FDA declaration for the S030 covers variants with a stainless steel or PVDF fitting body and armature, a PVDF paddle wheel, and an FKM or EPDM seal.
How the S030 Measures Flow
As liquid flows through the pipe, it turns the paddle wheel. The magnets in the paddles create a frequency signal that the mounted transmitter (SE30, SE32, SE35, SE36 or 8611) detects contactlessly through the fitting wall. The frequency is proportional to the flow velocity. Key S030 data from the manufacturer:
- Flow velocity range: 0.3 – 10 m/s
- Measuring range: 0.5 – 1200 l/min, depending on DN
- Linearity: ±0.5 % of full scale
- Repeatability: ±0.4 % of measured value
- Fluid: Clean, neutral or slightly aggressive, solid-free liquids. Max. 1 % solids, max. particle size 0.5 mm, max. viscosity 300 cSt
- Fluid temperature (stainless steel fitting): -15 to +100 °C
- Max. pressure (metal fitting): PN 16
