RP-10A-20-Y-8 Winner Hydraulics Pilot-Operated Balanced Piston Relief Valve for 10A-2 Cavity
The Winner Hydraulics RP-10A-20-Y-8 is a 2-port relief cartridge with a pilot-operated balanced piston main stage and an integral 8A-2 control cavity. It fits the 10A-2 cavity with an M20 x 1.5 thread. It is rated for 95 L/min and a maximum operating pressure of 350 bar. Any 8A-2 pressure control cartridge can be fitted as the pilot, so the RP-10A-20-Y-8 works as a ready-made main stage for adjustable, remote or electro-proportional pressure relief.
Working Principle of the RP-10A-20-Y-8
The pilot cartridge in the integral 8A cavity sets the control pressure. When pressure at port 1 exceeds this setting, the balanced piston pilot-opens port 2 and meters flow from port 1 to port 2 (P to T), holding system pressure at the required value. The pilot setting governs the pressure differential between the ports. Back pressure at port 2 (tank) adds to the setting in a 1:1 ratio.

- Stainless-steel filter screen protects the pilot port for contamination resistance
- Working parts heat-treated and high-precision ground for hardness and long life
- WINNERcoat® zinc-nickel plating, salt-spray tested to DIN EN ISO 9227 for up to 1000 hours
- Pressure rating tested to NFPA T2.6.1, with 90/90 fatigue rating assurance
- 100% functional test on every valve before shipment
- A range of seal kit materials available
Important Selection Notes
- Due to spool leakage, Winner does not recommend the RP-10A-20-Y-8 for load-holding applications.
- High pressure drop across a relief valve can cause cavitation, noise and manifold erosion. For those conditions, Winner points to its balanced poppet RP-10A-2G-Y-8 for the same 10A-2 cavity.
