RP-16A-2G-Y-8 Winner Hydraulics: 380 L/min Balanced Poppet Relief with Integral 8A Pilot Cavity
Rated for 380 L/min at up to 350 bar, the Winner Hydraulics RP-16A-2G-Y-8 sits between the mid-flow and maximum-flow models of the RP-2G-8 family. This 2-port screw-in relief cartridge fits a 16A-2 cavity. It combines a pilot-operated balanced poppet main stage with a built-in 8A-2 control cavity, ready for any 8A-2 pressure control cartridge as the pilot. It is a compact way to add remote, manual or electro-proportional pressure control to high-flow hydraulic systems.
Pilot-Controlled Pressure Relief, Explained
The pilot cartridge in the 8A cavity sets the opening pressure. When pressure at port 1 exceeds that setting, the main poppet opens toward port 2 and meters flow to keep pressure under control. The pilot setting determines the pressure difference between port 1 and port 2. Any back pressure on port 2 adds to the relief setting at a 1:1 ratio.

Engineering Advantages
- Balanced poppet main stage minimises cavitation, noise and manifold erosion under high pressure drop
- Two spring choices: B for a lower minimum control pressure, W for higher pressure-drop service
- Stainless-steel filter screen protects the pilot port from contamination
- Port 2 rated for full system pressure
- Working parts heat-treated and high-precision ground for hardness and long life
- WINNERcoat® zinc-nickel plating, salt-spray tested up to 1000 hours to DIN EN ISO 9227
- Pressure rating tested to NFPA T2.6.1; fatigue rating verified at 90/90
- Every unit passes a 100% functional test before leaving the factory
- Available with a range of seal kit materials

Frequently Asked Questions
What does “Y” mean in RP-16A-2G-Y-8?
“Y” is the spring code. Winner offers the RP-16A-2G-8 with a B spring (3.5 bar minimum control pressure) or a W spring (7 bar minimum control pressure).
Which cavity does the RP-16A-2G-Y-8 fit?
It installs in a standard Winner 16A-2 cavity. The pilot stage uses the valve’s integral 8A-2 cavity.
What is the maximum flow of the RP-16A-2G-Y-8?
The rated flow is 380 L/min (100.39 gpm) at a maximum operating pressure of 350 bar.
