The Danfoss 068Z3403 is a TE 2 thermostatic expansion valve for R404A/R507A with an external pressure equaliser. It covers range N (−40 to +10 °C). The TE 2 is the externally equalised version of the Danfoss T 2. It is the right choice for evaporators with a noticeable pressure drop, such as coils with a liquid distributor, multi-circuit evaporators and longer evaporator runs. In these cases, an internally equalised valve would hold superheat too high and underfeed the coil. Typical uses include cold rooms, unit coolers, display cabinets and refrigeration packs.

Bi-Flow Capability
With orifice sizes 01 to 05, the TE 2 works in both flow directions. This makes it suitable for reversible systems and heat-pump circuits, where the refrigerant flow through the valve changes direction.

Danfoss rates the TE 2 at 6 K subcooling, 38 °C condensing, 4.4 °C evaporating and 37 °C liquid temperature (in imperial: 10.8 °F / 100 °F / 40 °F / 98 °F).
