The Panasonic PM-K45 is the K-type model of the PM-45 series. These compact U-shaped (slot) micro photoelectric sensors have the amplifier built into a 10 g head. The PM-45 series comes in several housing shapes, so the sensor can be mounted in the orientation that best fits the machine. The PM-K45 is the K-type variant, with a 1 m cable and NPN outputs. It is built for harsh motion applications. Panasonic rates it for vibration from 10 to 2,000 Hz and shock up to 15,000 m/s² (approx. 1,500 G), so it holds up on fast linear axes, robot end-effectors and indexing tables where it is typically used as a home, limit or timing sensor. It detects opaque objects as small as 0.8 × 1.2 mm in its 6 mm slot, with 0.01 mm repeatability and up to 3 kHz response.
