WAGO 280-901 2-Conductor Through Terminal Block, 2.5 mm², CAGE CLAMP®
The WAGO 280-901 is a grey 2-conductor through terminal block for conductors up to 2.5 mm², with WAGO’s proven CAGE CLAMP® spring connection. At only 5 mm wide, it is one of the most widely used terminal blocks in control cabinets, machine building and building installations, and a standard choice for control wiring, signal circuits and low-power distribution on DIN rails.
CAGE CLAMP®: Vibration-Proof and Maintenance-Free
CAGE CLAMP® is WAGO’s spring-pressure connection technology. The conductor is inserted after opening the clamp with an operating tool, and the spring then holds it with constant contact force. It does not need re-tightening, it is resistant to vibration, and it accepts both solid and fine-stranded conductors from 0.08 to 2.5 mm² (28–12 AWG), with a strip length of 8–9 mm.
Ratings for Worldwide Use
To IEC/EN 60947-7-1, the 280-901 is rated 800 V and 24 A, with a rated impulse voltage of 8 kV. For North American projects, it is rated 600 V / 20 A (UL 1059) and 600 V / 24 A (CSA). The PA66 insulating housing is UL94 V0 rated and suitable for continuous operation from -60 to +105 °C. Marine approvals (ABS, BV, DNV GL, LR) make it suitable for shipbuilding and offshore applications.
