The IFM IFC239 (shortcode: IFB3002-BPKG/US-104) is a specialized, highly durable inductive proximity sensor engineered specifically for machine tools, metalworking, and heavy factory automation applications involving oils and coolants. Built into a compact cylindrical threaded M12 x 1 metal barrel housing made of white bronze-coated brass with a total length of 45 mm, it utilizes a flush mountable installation design. It delivers a rated sensing range of 2 mm, a real sensing range ($Sr$) of 2 mm $\pm$ 10%, and an operating distance of 0 to 1.62 mm. Material correction factors include mild steel = 1, stainless steel approx. 0.7, brass approx. 0.5, aluminium approx. 0.4, and copper approx. 0.3.
