IFM IGT249 Inductive Full-Metal Sensor
Technical Specifications & Features
The IFM IGT249 (shortcode: IGK3012-BPKG/AM/P/US-104-DPS) is a heavy-duty, full-metal inductive proximity sensor engineered specifically for hygienic areas, washdown applications, and the food and beverage industry. Built into a rugged, seamless cylindrical threaded M18 x 1 stainless steel housing (316L / 1.4404) with a total length of 70 mm, it features a non-flush mountable installation design. It delivers an extended rated sensing range of 12 mm, a real sensing range ($Sr$) of 12 mm $\pm$ 10%, and an operating distance of 0 to 9.7 mm. Material correction factors include steel = 1, stainless steel = 1, brass approx. 0.9, aluminium approx. 0.8, and copper approx. 0.5.
Key Operational Benefits & Electrical Data
-
Electrical Ratings: Operates on a DC PNP architecture with an operating voltage range of 10 to 30 V DC, a low current consumption of less than 25 mA, a protection class III rating, and a permanent switching output current rating of 100 mA.
-
Switching Performance: Features a normally open (NO) output function with a maximum voltage drop of 2.5 V, a switching frequency of 250 Hz, a hysteresis of 1 to 20% of $Sr$, and a switch-point drift of -10 to 10% of $Sr$.
-
Environmental & Mechanical Protection: Exceptional environmental sealing rated to IP65, IP67, IP68, and IP69K, making it completely resistant to high-pressure cleaning cycles with aggressive chemical agents and rapid temperature shocks. It is pressure resistant up to 100 bar at the sensing face, operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 °C to 100 °C, and connects via an M12 connector with gold-plated contacts.
