IFM II0096 Inductive Proximity Sensor
Technical Specifications & Features
The IFM II0096 (shortcode: IIA2010-BBOA) is a heavy-duty inductive proximity sensor built into a cylindrical threaded M30 x 1.5 metal barrel housing with a total length of 81 mm. Designed with a flush mountable configuration, it provides a rated sensing range of 10 mm, a real sensing range ($Sr$) of 10 mm $\pm$ 10%, and an operating distance of 0 to 8.1 mm. Constructed with a white bronze-coated brass housing, a PBT sensing face, and an integrated 2-meter PVC cable (2 x 0.5 mm²), its material correction factors include mild steel = 1, stainless steel approx. 0.7, brass approx. 0.4, aluminium approx. 0.3, and copper approx. 0.2.
Key Operational Benefits & Electrical Data
-
Electrical Ratings: Operates on a 2-wire AC/DC architecture with a wide operating voltage range of 20 to 250 V AC/DC, a protection class II rating, a minimum load current of 5 mA, and a permanent switching output current rating of 250 mA (up to 350 mA at temperatures below 50 °C) for AC or 100 mA for DC.
-
Switching Performance: Features a normally closed (NC) output function with a maximum voltage drop of 6 V (DC) / 6.5 V (AC), a switching frequency of 50 Hz (DC) or 25 Hz (AC), a hysteresis of 1 to 15% of $Sr$, and a switch-point drift of -10 to 10% of $Sr$.
-
Environmental & Mechanical Protection: Rated to IP67 for reliable dust and moisture resistance in rigorous industrial applications. It operates efficiently within an ambient temperature range of -25 °C to 80 °C and supports a short-time peak current rating up to 2200 mA (20 ms / 0.5 Hz).
