IFM IF5804 Inductive Proximity Sensor
Technical Specifications & Features
The IFM IF5804 (shortcode: IFK2004-ARKG/PH) is a robust inductive proximity sensor engineered with a threaded M12 x 1 barrel metal housing made of white bronze-coated brass and PBT. Designed with a non-flush mountable configuration and an overall length of 62 mm, it provides a rated sensing range of 4 mm, a real sensing range ($Sr$) of 4 mm $\pm$ 10%, and an operating distance of 0 to 3.25 mm. Material correction factors include mild steel = 1, stainless steel approx. 0.7, brass approx. 0.5, aluminium approx. 0.4, and copper approx. 0.3.
Key Operational Benefits & Electrical Data
-
Electrical Ratings: Operates on a versatile PNP/NPN 2-wire architecture with a wide operating voltage range of 10 to 55 V DC, a protection class II rating, a maximum leakage current of 0.8 mA, and a high permanent switching output current rating of 400 mA.
-
Switching Performance: Features a normally open (NO) output function with a maximum voltage drop of 4.6 V, an exceptional switching frequency of 1400 Hz, a hysteresis of 1 to 15% of $Sr$, and a switch-point drift of -10 to 10% of $Sr$.
-
Environmental & Mechanical Protection: Rated to IP67 for dependable dust and moisture resistance in harsh factory environments. It functions reliably within an ambient temperature range of -25 °C to 80 °C and includes built-in pulsed short-circuit protection, overload protection, reverse polarity protection, and a pre-cabled 2-meter PUR cable connection.
