The Oriental Motor AZD-AD is an advanced, high-performance closed-loop stepper motor driver featuring a built-in controller (stored data type). Mechanical Absolute Encoder (ABZO) Technology
The AZD-AD driver interfaces seamlessly with AZ Series stepper motors equipped with the patented mechanical ABZO sensor. Because positioning data is stored mechanically within multiple internal rotation gears, the exact location of the motor shaft is retained even if the main power is completely cut off or if the motor cable is temporarily detached. This architecture cuts down production downtime by eliminating the need for tedious return-to-home cycles.
Integrated Motion Profiles and Sequence Control
Equipped with memory for up to 256 distinct positioning data points, the AZD-AD driver enables sophisticated motion sequence profiles without taxing a master PLC. Using the proprietary MEXE02 support software, engineers can program complex positioning operations, continuous speed changes, push-motion profiles, loop operations, and event jumps. Additionally, its robust internal thermal monitor outputs fault diagnostic safety alerts to guard against overheating, overvoltage, or prolonged loop-out overloads.
