Indelec Prevectron 3 S60 Connect – P1543C
The Indelec Prevectron® 3 S60 Connect (P1543C) is the connected version of the Prevectron 3 S60 (P1543). The S60 has a 60 µs advance time, the longest in the Prevectron® 3 range. The Connect version keeps the same protection performance and adds a built-in lightning strike counter plus remote monitoring over the mobile network. Facility managers can check the status of their lightning protection system without going on site.
Same Protection as the Prevectron 3 S60
The lightning protection hardware is identical to the standard S60:
- 60 µs advance time (ΔT)
- 6 independent, synchronised modules with OptiMax® technology
- 316 stainless steel housing with electromagnetic shielding
- 200 mm² nickel-plated copper central rod with full electrical continuity
- Tested to Iimp 100 kA, maximum current withstanding test Imax 230 kA (Unicamp)
What the “Connect” Module Adds
- Integrated Type 1 lightning strike counter: patented contactless counting technology, detecting strikes from 2 kA to 100 kA.
- Remote monitoring: the unit reports the ESE lightning rod status, battery level and GSM signal quality to Indelec’s online platform, indelec-connect.com.
- Communication: GSM/GPRS quad-band (2G).
- Solar-charged power supply: a high-performance LiFePO4 battery (3,200 mAh, 3.2 V) is recharged by a monocrystalline glass-coated solar panel.
Connect or Standard S60?
The Connect version includes its own strike counter and remote reporting. For standard Prevectron 3 installations, pair the Prevectron 3 S60 (P1543) with an Indelec P8011 lightning counter on the down conductor to record strikes on site.
Lifecycle Note
Indelec now lists the Prevectron® 3 S60 Connect under the references P1643C, P1743C and P1843C (depending on installation location), with 4G (LTE) / 2G communication. The P1543C is the earlier 2G (GSM/GPRS) version. It remains the direct replacement for existing P1543C installations. Before ordering, check that 2G network coverage is available in the country of installation.
